Obama’s Final Finger to the Nation

1,385. That’s the number of criminal sentences Barack Obama has commutated; more than the last 12 presidents combined after yesterday’s announcement that he would be commutating 209 more sentences. That’s in addition to the 212 criminals he has pardoned; 64 of which were announced yesterday. As the White House’s official propaganda website notes, of the 1,385 commutations President Obama has issued, 504, or 36.3%, of them were serving life sentences.
The most egregious and outrageous commutations Obama announced yesterday were that of Oscar Lopez Rivera and Bradley Manning.
Oscar Lopez Rivera
Oscar Lopez Rivera was a member of the Puerto Rican marxist terrorist group the FALN. The FALN was prevalent throughout the 70’s into the early 80’s and are responsible for planting over 120 bombs in that time period, killing and injuring many during that decade long stretch of terror activity. Lopez was finally convicted in 1981 on charges of armed robbery, weapons-related charges, and a seditious conspiracy to overthrow the United States government. The FALN stated goal was independence from the US but reports have come out in the years since indicating that Cuban intelligence and forces trained the terrorists with the goal of taking control of Puerto Rico from the US.
As recently as 1999, former President Bill Clinton offered commutation to Rivera under the condition that he renounce his former terrorism and he wouldn’t do it! That means that Barack Obama has just commuted the sentence of a terrorist who won’t renounce nor does he regret his role in bombing and killing innocent people. That guy will now be free come May 17th. Thanks Obama.
Or Chelsea, Or whatever the heck he/she calls him/herself. Manning was convicted via court martial in 2013 on charges of violating the Espionage Act after leaking 750,000 pages of classified material to Wikileaks. As David French over at National Review notes:
Despite this, Barack Obama is releasing him from prison, effective May 17th. The only reason Manning wasn’t executed (and he should have been in my opinion) was because he accepted the military equivalent of a plea deal. He was very lucky to have only gotten the 35 years to begin with. Now, thanks to Obama, despite his treasonous activities that put fellow American lives at risk, he will only end up serving a fraction of his already lenient sentence.
So to review, Barack Obama has just commuted the sentence of a terrorist who tried to overthrow the government and has not renounced nor shown remorse for his prior actions, and a traitor who was convicted on charges of violating the Espionage Act and put his fellow American and American allies in danger.
Hey liberals, how do you defend this? I’m all ears.
